The district of Point has a great deal to offer visitors. Throughout the year, there are many events, concerts, performances and activities held in Point, entertaining locals and visitors alike. The main summer event in Point is now the Agricultural Show, which is held in the village of Aird in July each year.
The coastline provides a diverse choice of walks from a gentle stroll along one of the sandy beaches to a dramatic cliff-top trek where you can observe a plethora of seabirds and sealife, such as dolphins, porpoises and whales. The seas around Point are also renowned for the quality of the sea-angling they offer.
There are several sites of historical interest such as the ancient St Columba's church at Aignish, which was once the burial place of the Chiefs of the Macleods of Lewis. Also, nearby, is the memorial cairn to the Aignish rioters who played a cruical role in the Lewis Land Struggle in the late 1800s. Others sites of interest include the old Garrabost Mill, the Garrabost Brickworks and the Tiumpanhead Lighthouse.
